About Our Breeding Program

My husband and I own and operate a small breeding program located on a family farm in Pickens, South Carolina. We only raise Toy Australian Shepherds and usually have 3 to 4 litters per year. We purchased the first dog in our program in March of 2020 and had our first litter of puppies in May of 2022. We currently have 4 females and 2 males in our program. They enjoy running loose around our property at times when we are outside with them. The rest of the time, they spend in a large fenced in dog run area when they are not in the spacious indoor/outdoor kennels with doggie door access. All of our adult dogs are registered pure breed Toy Australian Shepherds through the American Stock Dog Registry (ASDR) and all have had genetic testing for health issues. This testing gives us confidence that our dogs will not pass along genetic health issues to their offspring.

All of our puppies are raised inside our home and handled daily from day one. We pride ourselves on the quality of care and socialization that we provide for all of our pups. We do ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) with our pups from day 3 until day 16. This is a series of five stimulation exercises and each exercise lasts 3 to 5 seconds. ENS introduces the puppies to mild stressors in a controlled situation. This helps improve their heart rate, strengthens their heart, improves adrenal glands, gives greater resistance to diseases, and makes the puppies more tolerant to stress in the future. We believe that ENS is an important part of raising healthier puppies that are well adjusted, confident, and ready to explore the world.

Our daughters and grandchildren live close by and gladly help us with socializing the puppies. We hold the puppies daily and give them lots of love. They are used to playing with children of various ages and are exposed to a variety of toys, textured surfaces, and environmental sounds. During the first two weeks of their lives, we weigh them twice a day to monitor their weight gain. If a puppy loses even a tenth of an ounce, we know about it and take measures to ensure they start gaining weight again. All of our puppies are dewormed once every two weeks until they go to their new homes. We start litter training the pups around 4 to 5 weeks old using pine pellet bedding in a shallow tray. This makes house training your new puppy much easier. We also start crate training the puppies around 6 weeks old. At 6 to 7 weeks old, they have a thorough health check and get their first round of vaccines by our veterinarian. When you get one of our puppies, you can rest assured that it is healthy, well socialized, and has been given a great foundation for you to build upon.

We love our little Aussies! These dogs are intelligent, loving, athletic, loyal, and full of life. Aussies make excellent pets because they are great with children and adults of all ages, and they get along well with other dogs and animals. Toy Aussies make- great house pets also due to their small size. They have all the same wonderful qualities and traits as the standard and mini size Aussies, just in "fun size." Another great benefit of the toy size Aussies is that they eat a lot less than larger dogs, which means it is cheaper to feed your furry baby. Most of our puppies mature at 12 inches tall and weigh 8 to 15 pounds and usually eat about one cup of food per day.

All of our puppies come with a health guarantee, copies of their vet health check, and detailed record of their weight from birth, deworming, and vet visits. You will also receive ASDR registration paperwork, a small bag of puppy food, a blanket with mom's and litter mates' scent, and a few toys. After taking your new puppy home, we are always here and available to answer questions and provide support for the lifetime of your pup.
